IV Add-Ons Explained: B12, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Zinc and What They Cost
An IV add-on is a small extra for your visit, usually a quick injection of a single vitamin, mineral or medication. At Alpha IV Therapy in Tulsa, B12, magnesium, vitamin C, zinc and most other add-ons are $30 each and are booked as 5-minute add-ons. Add them to any IV drip when you book online and pay at your visit, or book the injection add-ons on their own.
Below are the full add-on price list, what the four most-asked-about add-ons are, which drips already include them, and how add-ons work with memberships.

How add-ons work at booking
- As a boost on a drip. When you book an IV drip online, including a Quickie or a NAD+ drip, add-ons appear as optional boosts for your bag. You pick them as you book and pay for them at your visit, not online. You can add more than one to the same drip.
- On their own. You don't need a full drip. The injection add-ons can also be booked by themselves as a quick in-clinic visit, and our vitamin shot menu has more standalone shots ($30, about 10 minutes).
Most people add them to a drip. Someone getting a hydration IV might want B12 without switching to a different formula. Someone else might keep the infusion they always get and ask for zinc as an addition to their usual bag.
What an add-on is
The menu lists most injection add-ons as a quick IM (into a muscle) or IV injection from our clinical team. The $30 add-ons are each booked as 5 minutes, compared with about 40 minutes for a full 1-liter drip. Mild soreness where a shot went in is possible. The NAD+ add-on and the two extra-fluid add-ons work differently: the menu books them at 20 to 60 minutes, as the price table shows.
B12, magnesium, vitamin C and zinc
Methylcobalamin (B12)
Our menu describes methylcobalamin as "the active, ready-to-use form of B12." B12 plays a role in nerve function and red blood cell production, which is why people associate it with energy. A B12 add-on isn't a guaranteed energy fix, and how people feel afterward varies. B12 is also on the menu as a standalone Methylcobalamin (B12) shot.
Magnesium
Magnesium is a mineral involved in many normal body processes, including muscle and nerve function. People often ask for it after physical activity, or to round out a drip that doesn't already include it.
Vitamin C
A vitamin C add-on is given the same quick way as B12 or magnesium. It's not to be confused with our high-dose vitamin C infusions (15 g to 75 g, about 75 minutes), a separate service that requires a G6PD, CBC and CMP blood test in our clinic before treatment.
Zinc
Zinc rounds out the four. Like the others, it's a quick injection rather than a bag on its own. People typically request it as a general addition to their regular infusion, often alongside B12 or vitamin C.
Which drips already include B12, magnesium, vitamin C or zinc
Adding an ingredient your drip already lists isn't necessary, so check before you pick a boost. Here's which of the four each drip lists:

Quickie versions carry the same ingredients in a half-liter bag. Both immune drips already list vitamin C, magnesium and zinc. Taurine, another $30 add-on, is already in Alpha Migraine Elite, Alpha Hangover Elite, Alpha Performance Recovery and Alpha Super Immune. Prescription add-ons need the provider's approval
Toradol, Zofran, Pepcid and Benadryl are prescription medications. They need the provider's approval at your Good Faith Exam, the short telehealth visit every new client completes. Our drip labels list Toradol as an NSAID for pain and headache and Zofran as an anti-nausea medication, and the menu lists Benadryl as an antihistamine for flushing, itching or mild allergic reactions during an infusion.
- Tell the team what you've already taken today and about your medications, allergies and health conditions.
- The hangover and migraine drips already include Toradol and Zofran, and Alpha Tattoo Recovery includes Toradol, so there's no need to add them on top.
- Benadryl can make you drowsy, so don't drive after it.
- If you're sick, see your physician first; if you're in severe pain, call 911 or go to the ER. An add-on isn't a treatment for illness.
Add-ons with a membership
Our IV memberships include free add-ons every month: 3 on Premium ($200 a month), 6 on Elite ($300) and 8 on VIP ($400). Each plan also carries a monthly IV credit equal to its price.
